Welcome to Flying Needles Quilt Guild
Flying Needles Quilt Guild was founded in 2010 filling a need in Yolo County to recognize and organize the quilters in that area and beyond. Membership has grown steadily since the inception of the guild. We welcome any and all who would like to attend our meetings and get to know us. The General Meeting is on the 3rd Thursday of every month at the County Fair Mall in Woodland CA. That is on the corner of Gibson and East Streets. The meeting is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Please come join us.
At the General Meeting we have a fat quarter drawing each month. For every 2 fat quarters you bring, you receive a ticket to compete in the drawing that is held at the end of the meeting. One of the fat quarters you bring goes to the guild to help make community service quilts. The other one is put into a grouping and given to the winner(s) of the drawing. Great chance to help the guild and maybe get a stash of fat quarters.
There is also a quilt block drawing. Bring two of the designated blocks each month. One goes to be put together by the guild into a quilt for community service or to sell at the show. The other goes into a grouping to be raffled off later than evening. You could actually win blocks to make your own quilt. Plus you get experience making a different block each month. To find the block go to the Block of the Month link above. The instructions are usually shown at the end of the newsletter, too.
During the month there are several days we get together to sew and chat. Check out the calendar for dates and times for those days. Click the calendar link at the top of this page.

Teachers Needed
We need volunteers teach projects on Enrichment Day, the third Sunday of each month from 12-4. If you have a favorite quilt you've made and think our members might enjoy making it, then please volunteer to teach the block/technique, the quilt. If you haven't taught before and need help preparing, we can help. We just need teachers! Please let me know by replying to this email, or emailing me directly. Members have been asking Diane when a project might be taught -- so here's the chance to show off those skills you've acquired.
